Does PSY Still Make Music?
More than a decade after taking the world by storm with his viral sensation “Gangnam Style,” South Korean superstar PSY remains a major force in the entertainment industry. While he may not chase global pop charts with the same relentless frequency as his 2012 breakout, PSY is very much active as a musician, label executive, and iconic live performer.
Running P Nation
Following his departure from YG Entertainment after eight years, PSY founded his own independent record label, P Nation, in 2019. Through the label, he has taken on a mentorship and executive role, helping to shape the careers of various prominent artists while continuing to direct his own creative output.
Recent Musical Releases and Collaborations
PSY has continued to release music on his own terms:
- Psy 9th: Marking his milestone studio album release, this project served as a celebration of his career evolution.
- “That That” (ft. Suga of BTS): The lead single became an instant global hit, blending PSY’s signature high-energy performance style with production and vocals from BTS member Suga.
Epic Live Performances and Ongoing Legacy
Rather than stepping away from the spotlight, PSY channels immense energy into his legendary live shows. His annual Summer Swag concert tours draw massive crowds across South Korea, showcasing his enduring showmanship. Furthermore, his cultural footprint continues to break records, with his classic hits achieving historic streaming milestones.
Ultimately, PSY has successfully transitioned from a viral internet phenomenon into a foundational pillar of modern Korean entertainment, proving that he is still deeply dedicated to making music and moving crowds.
